Here is an excerpt from the interview that the Olympic channel conducted with the Costa Rican athlete.

The Olympic Games channel has highlighted the current life of Costa Rican surfer Brisa Hennessy.

The Costa Rican athlete lives with her family on Nanotu Island, Fiji, and according to her, it's a magical place with incredible waves that you can walk around in just five minutes.

And despite the current situation worldwide, where many countries have closed their borders, a surf lover couldn't have asked for a better outlook on an island in the South Pacific Ocean with high-quality waves practically all day long.





“My family and I call ourselves homeless nomads. We practically don’t have a fixed address. We live out of a suitcase. Now I have my suitcase here, but I’m always ready to move. But if I’m with my family, I feel like I’m at home,” Brisa told the Olympics channel.

Hennessy has used this time on the island to train, spend time with her family, and also to practice the culinary arts, in which she excels.

The current qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games highlighted in the interview the presence of surfing in the Olympics and referred to the feeling that captured her heart when she achieved her qualification.

“When they told me I had qualified, it was a moment I will never forget. I was with my family. I just felt so excited and proud. I’m really looking forward to the Opening Ceremony. Seeing the best athletes in the world, honestly, gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. It will definitely be a huge moment for a sports fan like me.”

For now, the uncertainty surrounding the holding of the games in 2021 is still in doubt; however, Brisa continues preparing to represent the country where she was born and raised, a place that, according to the athlete, runs in her veins and she is proud to represent.
