Olympic regulations prohibit advertising purposes during and in the Olympic Games.

As has been the constant throughout the years in the Olympic process in relation to the use of external sponsor brands of the Games and as indicated in regulation number 50 in its Olympic Charter, in addition to regulation number 40 of the International Olympic Committee which specifies the following:
"No competitor, coach or official participating in the Olympic Games may allow their person, name, image or performances in the Games to be used for advertising purposes during the Olympic Games."
This year will be no exception to the rule, and for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, participants will not be able to use their personal sponsor brands on their sports equipment or clothing that exceeds 60 and 30 square centimeters respectively.
Our national team undertook the task of fully complying with this regulation and has done the necessary work with paint brands or endorsements.
"Competitors must follow certain guidelines outlined in the Olympic Charter, and we have been monitoring and adhering to the Olympic Cycle process. One of the regulations states that competitors must not display personal brands or sponsors. Our competitors have taken it upon themselves to cover up any advertising. Other countries are also obligated to comply with this Olympic Cycle requirement, and failure to do so could result in sanctions for the athlete," stated Randall Chaves, president of the Costa Rican Surfing Federation.
