National surfers get off to a good start at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games

The Nationals advanced their first-round series.
The three national surfing representatives who are competing in Punta Rocas, Lima, Peru for the Pan American Surf Games entered the competition today and with an outstanding performance added their participation to the second round of the event.

Costa Ricans Noe Mar McGonagle and Anthony Fillingim in the Open category and Anthony Flores in the Longboard category will now have to face the next round where in one-on-one series they will seek to remain in the main event without having to go to repechage.

In round # 2 McGonagle will face Canadian Cody Young in the first heat of that round, while in the fourth series Anthony Fillingim will have the opportunity to face Venezuelan Francisco Bellorin.
In the longboard category, Anthony Flores will face Peruvian Benoit Clemente and Brazilian Wenderson Conceicao in the second round.
