The best surfing in the country travels to the Guanacaste peninsula.
For the second year in a row, the best of Costa Rican surfing visits the natural paradise of Santa Teresa Beach to compete in the Santa Teresa Surf Classic.
The event will take place on March 7th and 8th and is organized by the Santa Teresa Air Show Surf Series and local surfer Aaron Henkel. The competition will have a prize purse of three thousand dollars, making it the largest amount of money ever awarded at an event in the area.
“We have a very large number of sponsors who are supporting us, and therefore we will run in seven categories and expand the competition,” said Aaron Henkel.

Seven categories will be contested, which are Open (male and female), Junior, Longboard, Mixed Bodyboard, Masters and Mixed Grommets.

On Sunday, an aerial event will be held, offering more cash prizes to participants who will attend this important competition.
