The first edition of the Lifesaving Games will be held at Jacó Beach

San Marcos University presents the news of the day.

Central Pacific will host open water lifesaving competition.

Through an effort by the municipal organization of Garabito in conjunction with Surfing Republica, the first edition of the Jacó 2019 Lifesaving Games has arrived.

According to the head of aquatic rescue, Marvin Chen Pérez, the arrangements to hold a competition of this kind had already been made but it had not been launched, however, thanks to Surfing Republica it will become a reality.

The competition is aimed at lifeguards, surf instructors, surfers, and even people who practice open water triathlons, and it serves to measure competitive level at sea and body endurance both in and out of the water.

“Our goal is to create a lifestyle linked to lifesaving, as we have been doing for all these years. We have focused on education for children, youth, and adults, and now we want to focus on the sporting aspect,” stated Marvin Chen .

This first edition will take place on Saturday, September 28th, in front of the Beach Break Resort facilities in Jacó Beach. It will have two categories: 18 years and older, and under 18 years old. The event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am.

Registration is completely free and can be done by calling +506 8315 4962 and speaking with Marvin.
