Hawaii promotes surfing among younger generations.
The Costa Rican surfer, Nicolas Boos, just 9 years old, won third place in an important youth tournament on the island of Hawaii.
The Guanacaste native competed in his last event on the American island before returning to national soil.
Nicolas competed among sixty Hawaiian athletes, being the only foreigner in the event, and managed to climb onto the podium.
