Malakai Martínez y Darshan Antequera destacan en el tercer día del Mundial Junior

Malakai Martínez and Darshan Antequera stand out on the third day of the Junior World Championships

San Marcos University presents the news of the day.

Costa Rica continues with all its athletes in competition after three tough days of action in Huntington Beach.

The action continues at one of the most famous piers in the world, and the best Under 18 and Under 16 athletes in the world continue to demonstrate their high level.

The national representation is taking firm steps and with the great performance today of Malakai Martínez in Under 18 and Darshan Antequera in Under 16, our country still has three competitors in the main event.

“In the heat I didn’t manage to catch the best waves at the beginning, but as the minutes went by I improved my combination and advanced to the next round. I’m staying focused and I’ll compete tomorrow morning,” said Malakai Martinez.

Today would be a difficult day for the Under 16 category, where unfortunately Paulina Summers, Indiana Ferri, Rachel Aguero, Leo Apreda and Aaron Ramirez fell to the repechage round and will have to continue along the longer path in search of a place in the final.

The competition returns tomorrow, and in the morning the nationals will see action in the third round, and in the afternoon they will continue with the second round of the repechage.
