The International Olympic Committee yields to the global crisis caused by COVID-19.

After an intense struggle to continue with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on the scheduled dates, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced this morning that they will indeed have to be postponed.

Taking into account the health of athletes, spectators and the organizing part, as well as the lack of countries involved in the issue, the IOC met to make the difficult decision.
The dates for the Games, as reported in the media, will not be revealed initially. The IOC has a month to determine the most suitable dates. Three possible scenarios are being considered: postponing them to the fall, moving them to 2021, or moving them to 2022.
Much will need to be modified because of this decision, but the health of the athletes and the well-being of the spectators will always come first in any sport.
