The International Olympic Committee continues its fight to hold the Olympics.
Despite the global health crisis facing the entire world due to COVID-19, the International Olympic Committee is clinging to the idea of holding the games. 
In what could be the Olympics with the highest health risks, construction continues at Shidashita Beach, Japan, as if nothing were happening, they are trying to have the facilities ready on time. 
Regarding the issue, a high-ranking IOC official spoke out a few days ago, commenting that there are still a few months to go before making a decision. They prefer to remain positive, committed to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, and awaiting a global improvement.
The organizing committee will have until the end of May to make a final decision and proceed with either suspending the games or carrying them out.
