Ecoxgear presents the news of the day.
Italo Ferreira (BRA) and Caroline Marks (USA) triumph at the ninth CT stop in Portugal and will take the fight for the world title to Hawaii.

The action concluded in Peniche, Portugal, the ninth stop of the world surfing tour where the fight for the world title now rests with surfers from Brazil, the United States and a lone South African.

Thanks to the victory, Ferreira managed to accumulate more ranking points than his compatriot Gabriel Medina and, like Jordy Smith (ZAF) and Filipe Toledo (BRA), he has a mathematical chance of winning the title.

In the ladies, Lakey Peterson (USA) continues to have options to catch Carissa Moore (USA) and with the obtaining of honors in Peniche now her compatriot Caroline Marks joins the fight.

For our country, this date left Brisa Hennessy just one heat away from attending the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and also gave the national athlete a better outlook for her eventual requalification for the next tour season.
