QS Dates will change its scoring system for 2020

World Surf League will modify the scoring methods for qualifying stops.
Following a meeting held during the Lima 2019 Pan American Games between regional representatives of the World Surf League and members of various Latin American federations, the change in scoring for next year's qualifying dates was announced.
In 2020, the 6,000 and 10,000 point races will be discontinued, replaced by 5,000 point races and the so-called Challenger races, the highest possible point totals. The 1,000, 1,500, and 3,000 point races will continue as before.
The World Surf League will make the announcement of this decision public in September.
