Gabriel Medina's mistake could cost him another world title

LifeMiles presents the news of the day.
Interference caused by the Brazilian could lead to the loss of the top spot in the standings and put the world title at risk.
Following the controversy in the round four series between Brazilians Caio Ibelli and Gabriel Medina, where the latter was penalized with interference and therefore unable to advance further in the match, putting at risk a whole year of work towards obtaining the world title.
Medina could have secured the world championship in Portugal, however, that title will have to wait and even be fought for a little more than the Brazilian expected.
While we know that among the contenders for the title there is no better surfer for the conditions of the last CT event than the Brazilian number 10, mathematically the options are viable and we must consider them.
There are three surfers who numerically have a chance to take first place from Medina after Portugal, we are talking about the Brazilians Filipe Toledo and Italo Ferreira and the South African Jordy Smith.

The one with the best chance is Toledo, who, if he advances one more round, would surpass his compatriot, and if he continues to advance in the competition, he would be in a very good position for the world title, and if he performs well at Pipeline, he could be unreachable by Gabriel.
Ferreira and Smith, for their part, have a chance at the top of the table before Hawaii, provided Toledo does not secure second place in Peniche.
The fight for the title is notorious and the mistake by the local from São Paulo could cost him dearly, ruining the work of an entire year.
