El Salvador will host a historic edition of the 2020 World Surfing Games

Central American country will award final spots for the Olympic Games.

In what will be the most important world championship in the history of the International Surfing Association (ISA), this is how the country of El Salvador will receive the 2020 games.

An event that will award twelve Olympic qualifiers (seven women and five men), thus closing with the official qualifiers for the first inclusion of surfing in the Olympics.

El Salvador won the bid against countries such as Australia, Costa Rica, France, among others, who were fighting to have their beaches selected for this grand event.

The competition will take place from May 9th to 17th and will have a double podium format and will be held on two waves: El Sunzal and La Bocana.

The event has the unique feature of having the presence of the best surfers in the world, including the top CT surfers from each country, as this is an ISA Olympic Eligibility requirement.
