The International Olympic Committee will wait to make the final decision on whether the games will be held.
In a message that was not alarmist, but rather one of great concern and caution, one of the members of the International Olympic Committee informed the media that they will study for three months whether the games will be held under the conditions that were initially planned. 
Surfing and other sports at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are at risk of not taking place due to the coronavirus epidemic, which currently has 80,200 cases in 38 countries. 
According to Dick Pound, a member of the IOC, making any kind of modification would be a very difficult action due to the large number of details involved.
