Sam Ready from Playa Dominical won the day in Garabito

San José, Costa Rica, April 6, 2025.

After three dates of the Costa Rica National Surf Circuit, the competition for first place in the men's open category remains heated because only 565 points separate first place from third place.

At the top of the ranking is Sam Ready , from Playa Dominical , who obtained first place in the open category at the last stop in Playa Jacó, a victory that earned him 4,415 points, followed by Carlos Muñoz with 4,130 points and in third place in the overall ranking is Oscar Urbina (3,850).

The Open final The men's competition at Playa Jacó was won by Reidy (17.23 points) who prevailed over Muñoz (16.40), Oscar Urbina (16.33) and Mauro Castro (8.94).

To determine the 2025 champions, the Costa Rican Surfing Federation (FSCR) takes into account the 4 best scores of the participants in each of the corresponding divisions.

The next date of the National Surf Circuit will take place from May 23 to 25 at Playa Guiones in Nosara, in the canton of Nicoya, Guanacaste, where the winners will obtain 1500 points.

The grand final is scheduled for June 20-22 at Playa Hermosa de Garabito, where the winners will earn two thousand points.

Triple merit

In the women's open category , Valeria Ojeda secured her third consecutive victory at Playa Jacó in the 2025 season , positioning herself as a strong contender for the title this year, although that possibility will depend on the results of the last two days in Nicoya and Garabito.

Last weekend in the women's division, Rachel Agüero took second place , while Mikela Castro , at just 11 years old, finished third as one of the great promises of national surfing.

Fourth place went to Lía Díaz , a local from Playa Negra in Santa Cruz, Guanacaste, who competed in three consecutive finals without a break between series (first place in women's longboard , third place in men's longboard and fourth place in women's open ).

The complete ranking of the National Surf Circuit after three events will be available in the next few hours at: RANKING_CNS_2025_Banco_LAFISE-1.pdf
