Costa Rica se mete al top 5 y continúa con opciones de medalla mundialista

Costa Rica enters the top 5 and remains in contention for a World Cup medal

Jaco Walk presents the news of the day.

Carlos Muñoz will face the eighth round of repechage in search of continuing to advance in the 2019 World Surfing Games.

In a day that would surprise everyone, both locals and outsiders, after several CT racers fell into the repechage round, this is how day seven of this world stop of the International Surfing Association (ISA) was contested.

Our country would have action today in the same series with Carlos Muñoz and Jair Pérez facing Jay Quinn (GBR) and Aritz Aramburu (ESP).

Unfortunately, only Carlos would manage to advance and Jair would fall to the fourth repechage round, which he would successfully overcome and face one more round in which he would also advance to the sixth round, however, Pérez in this phase would claim the third position of the series and thus say goodbye to the World Cup.

“Cali” Muñoz, for his part, would advance one more round, however, in the fifth phase he would have an intense struggle to stay in the event and would fall to the eighth repechage phase, where tomorrow night he will face the German Leon Glatzer, the Spaniard Vicente Romero and the Japanese Shum Murakami.

Costa Rica is currently in fifth place in the national rankings, a position that could be maintained or even improved if Muñoz continues to advance in the competition.
