Reef presents the news of the day.

Malakai Martinez is two series away from reaching the grand final of the Junior World Surfing Championship.
In what was undoubtedly the highlight for our country in Huntington Beach today, Malakai Martínez from Guanacaste advanced his quarterfinal series in the main event.
With this, the national team is just one heat away from the final in the main round and two series away from the grand final of the world championship.

In the Under 16 repechage rounds, Costa Ricans Aarón Ramirez and Leo Apreda managed to advance their series and are now in the fourth round, accompanying Darshan Antequera.
The girls in the Under 18 category, Coral Wiggins, Eva Woodland and Paulina Summers, also advanced their series and catapulted themselves to the third round of the repechage.
Our country also sadly suffered significant losses today, and in the Under 16 female category, the national team is left without any participants in the competition.

The action continues tomorrow in California, USA, and you can follow the event live at: https://isasurf.org/juniors/2019/en/live/
