Costa Rica gets off to a strong start in the men's open category and secures eighth place in the women's World Championship

Brisa Hennessy takes eighth place in the World Championship and the men's open category gets off to a good start in round 1.

The action ended on the fourth day of the World Surfing Games in Miyazaki, Japan, where our country is competing with a team full of the best of Costa Rican surfing.

Today marked the end of women's participation in the Games, and Brisa Hennessy, who was still competing today, managed to secure a valuable eighth place individually. This helps Costa Rica maintain its current sixth-place ranking among nations in this major event.

On the other hand, and making Latin America proud, Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich once again wins a world title.

In the men's division, the Costa Ricans started strong and left nothing to chance. Noe Mar McGonagle, Jair Pérez, and Carlos Muñoz all took first place in their respective first-round series and advanced to the next phase of the event.

In the next round, the Costa Rican team will face more challenging series, which they hope to overcome to advance in the competition. The series for the Costa Ricans are:
