Carlos Muñoz firma con Scotiabank y busca el ingreso al CT con marcas ajenas a la industria del surf

Carlos Muñoz signs with Scotiabank and seeks entry into the CT with brands outside the surf industry

San Marcos University presents the news of the day.

A prestigious company will support the Costa Rican surfer as a brand ambassador in his quest to enter the World Tour.

Costa Rican surfer Carlos Muñoz signed with the prestigious Scotiabank brand yesterday, in order to have greater financial support in his intentions to enter the World Tour.

Muñoz, who is currently ranked #16 in the qualifying rankings, has built his closest attempts to enter the Dream Tour in his entire career in 2019 at QS stops.

“Cali” is very close to achieving it and has based the year on sponsorships from brands outside the surf industry, a boost that Scotiabank is now also part of.

“I am very happy to be part of the Scotiabank family. It is a very important step in my career to be part of this prestigious company and to support my professional development. Scotiabank is a brand that supports new generations and new talent, and in that sense, we are on the same path,” Muñoz stated.

“After a few months of negotiations, we wanted to bring Scotiabank closer to surfing, just as we did in soccer by being the main sponsors. Now we want to do the same with surfing. Carlos Muñoz is one of Costa Rica's leading surfers and is close to qualifying for the Championship Tour and has a high probability of making the Olympic team. We are very happy with this three-year sponsorship and motivated because surfing is synonymous with tourism, and tourism is synonymous with foreign exchange and jobs for the country,” stated Diego Masola, Senior Vice President for Central America and General Manager for Costa Rica.

Carlos will compete in important events next month on the island of Hawaii, and this event will undoubtedly motivate the national athlete in his quest for that long-awaited pass to the World Tour.
