Brisa Hennessy cada vez más cerca de las olimpiadas y la recalificación CT 2020

Brisa Hennessy is getting closer to the Olympics and the CT 2020 requalification

Reef presents the news of the day.

Costa Rican surfer will face in the eighth date of the CT the only rival who could leave her out of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Costa Rican surfer Brisa Hennessy returns to action on the World Tour and in this eighth stop the town of Hossegor, France will provide the conditions for the best surfers in the world to perform.

Hennessy is currently ranked #10 in the CT rankings with 22,885 points and must maintain this position if he wants to qualify for the Tour in 2020.

With three commitments remaining to complete the Tour of Champions schedule, the national team has a strong chance of becoming the first Costa Rican to be present at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The only way Brisa could be eliminated would be if New Zealander Paige Hareb (currently ranked #16) surpasses the Costa Rican, a situation that is still feasible with 30,000 points up for grabs.

Brisa could start the Pro France early Thursday morning and in the first heat of the event she will have to face, coincidentally, New Zealander Paige Hareb and Australian Sally Fitzgibbons.

You can watch the event live starting at 3:00 am (local time) at: https://www.worldsurfleague.com/events/2019/wct/2922/roxy-pro-france
